MINNETONKA, Minn., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Softscope Medical
Technologies, Inc., an early stage medical device company developing an
innovative technology to significantly improve endoscopic procedures,
announced today the appointment of John E. Schellhorn as Chief Executive
Officer. Mr. Schellhorn has more than 23 years of experience in the medical
device field, most recently with ev3 Inc., a global leader in the
manufacture of minimally invasive devices to treat vascular disease and
disorders.
Prior to his position at ev3 Inc. as Vice President of Sales and
Marketing for the Peripheral Vascular Division, Mr. Schellhorn served as
International Vice President and General Manager for ACMI Corporation,
which was acquired by Gyrus PLC in 2005. Prior to ACMI Corporation, he was
Vice President of Sales for DePuy AcroMed, a division of Johnson & Johnson,
and spent seven years with Boston Scientific in positions including
Director of Sales and Marketing, Asia/Pacific; General Manager, Australia;
and Vice President of Sales for the Microvasive Urology Division.
Kathy Tune, a Softscope director with Thomas, McNerney & Partners
