SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Game Developers Conference
(GDC) and Lyon Game have teamed up to bring publishers and developers together
to preview new game concepts at Game Connection @ GDC, held March 22-23, 2004
in San Jose, Calif.
Inspired by the success of the innovative marketplace for game concepts
offered in Europe, Game Connection is expanding to include American and Asian
developers in order to provide them an opportunity to efficiently show game
concepts and development capabilities to the leading international publishers
while attending the GDC. Publishers can maximize their time by examining more
projects in one location and at one time than in months of work and
prospecting. They can discover innovative original content from development
studios they may not even be aware of.
"The GDC is the gravity point for the creation of games and interactive
entertainment," said Alan Yu, director, Game Developers Conference. "Game
Connection @ GDC makes it easier and more efficient for developers and
publishers to do what's been done at GDC for years: sign projects and lay the
groundwork for the next wave of hit titles."
Game Connection @ GDC meetings are confidential and take place in private
rooms. Publishers and developers can efficiently manage their time and
investment via a robust online scheduling system, which allows companies to
conveniently arrange more than 30 developer presentations in only two days.
During the 2003 Game Connection, held in Lyon, France, 80 top independent
game developers and 60 publishers met during 2,200 meetings in three days.
