Donates 5000 Minutes of Calling Time to the YWCA for Sheltered Women And
Independent Teens
VANCOUVER, Wash., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Electric Lightwave Inc.
(Nasdaq: ELIX), one of the nation's leading integrated communications
providers, is not only generating business with prepaid calling cards, but
connecting needy women and teens with their families and friends.
"In the last seven months, Electric Lightwave's prepaid calling card
services have amassed phenomenal increases in growth," said Joe Arata, vice
president of Electric Lightwave's Voice Solutions prepaid division. "The
number of minutes used on our prepaid calling cards has literally skyrocketed
more than 5,000 percent. You won't see these numbers within our competitors'
prepaid percentage growth figures."
The success of Electric Lightwave's Voice Solutions prepaid division is
due to its commitment to provide product reliability, according to customer
Ryan Snapper, vice president of Voyage Telecom. This reliability is what sets
Electric Lightwave apart from its competitors and is the reason his company
has full confidence in Electric Lightwave's services.
"As a sales and marketing company, we wanted to form an alliance with an
enterprise that had a back-office of professional and technical expertise that
would allow us to do what we do best," said Snapper. "Since forming that
alliance with Electric Lightwave's Voice Solutions, our sales have nearly
doubled."
As a way to give back to the community in light of its success, Electric
Lightwave donated 500 ten-minute prepaid calling cards to the Clark County
YWCA so that sheltered women and teens could contact loved ones for free over
the holidays.
"The women were so excited to get these cards," said Michelle Brammer,
marketing and special events coordinator at the YWCA of Clark County. "Since
the women are always in need of resources to call someone they know and trust,
the prepaid phone cards gave them the opportunity to stay in touch."
