CHICAGO, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Borg-Warner Protective Services, a
subsidiary of Borg-Warner Security Corporation (NYSE: BOR) today announced the
appointment of John D. Howard as president of its Gulf States Business Unit,
headquartered in Altamonte Springs, Fla. In this capacity, he will be
responsible for the overall operations of the business unit which provides
physical security services to customers from 16 branch offices in the states
of Florida, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi. Howard will report to John D.
O'Brien, president of Borg-Warner Protective Services.
Prior to this appointment, Howard was a regional vice president for Wells
Fargo Alarm Services, a former subsidiary of Borg-Warner Security, which was
sold to ADT Security Services in May, 1998. Howard began his career with
Wells Fargo Alarm in 1992, after retiring as a decorated brigadier general
from the United States Army. He served in the Army for nearly 29 years as an
infantry officer, which included two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the U.S.
Military Academy at West Point in 1964 and a M.S. degree in Operations
Research from the Navy Postgraduate School in 1972.
