MIDLAND, Mich., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aloysius J. Oliver,
Chairman of Chemical Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: CHFC), today announced
that Nancy Bowman, Certified Public Accountant and co-owner of Bowman &
Rogers, PC, located in Lake City, MI, has been appointed to the Board of
Directors of Chemical Financial Corporation. The Company's board appointed
Ms. Bowman at its regular meeting held on January 20, 2003.
Ms. Bowman has served the Board of Directors of Chemical Bank West, a
wholly owned subsidiary of Chemical Financial Corporation, since 1982 and is
currently Chairperson of the Cadillac Community Bank Board. Ms. Bowman also
serves both the Wexford Missaukee Intermediate School District and the
Missaukee Area Community Foundation as Treasurer. She is also a former board
member of the Lake City Chamber of Commerce, Lake City Area Schools and
OASIS/FRC. OASIS/FRC is a non-profit organization that provides services to
battered women and maintains a shelter for them, along with a family resource
center.
Ms. Bowman earned a bachelor's degree in Accountancy from Ferris State
University and received her CPA designation in 1978. Upon receiving her
credentials, she began her own practice in 1978, a practice that was
incorporated in 1993.
An extremely active individual within the Cadillac and Lake City
communities, Ms. Bowman believes strongly in supporting the community she
resides in and has volunteered for numerous fundraising activities. She
brings small business expertise and a strong working knowledge of banking to
the Chemical organization.
