Former Reuters Executive Will Expand Reader's Digest Presence Online
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- RD.com, the online
platform for Reader's Digest magazine, announced today that Steven Schwartz
has assumed the role of General Manager. In this newly created position,
Mr. Schwartz will lead the extension of the Reader's Digest brand in the
digital arena, creating strategies to drive revenue; developing external
partnerships; and establishing http://www.rd.com as a large-scale online presence,
reflecting the reach of the magazine.

Mr. Schwartz comes to rd.com with more than 20 years of business
development and media experience. Previously, he was Chief Operating
Officer at The Newsmarket, a venture-backed start-up that provides online
distribution of video and other multimedia to media outlets. Prior to that,
he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Reuters Consumer Media
where he managed Reuters.com, the Reuters sign at Times Square and Reuters'
online syndication initiatives in North America. During his tenure, Reuters
Consumer Media saw nearly a five-fold increase in revenue and engaged
audience.
Before joining Reuters, Mr. Schwartz headed global business development
for Multex.com, Inc., a company that Reuters acquired in 2003. In that
role, he developed distribution relationships and strategic alliances to
drive revenue for Multex's B to B segments as well as MultexInvestor.com, a
consumer site that provided investment research to individual investors.
Mr. Schwartz lives in Manhattan's Upper West Side with his wife and two
children.
