Industry Veteran J.H. Lee to Retire in 2007
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- SEMI today announced the
appointment of Hyun-Dae (H.D.) Cho to the position of president of SEMI
Korea effective April 1, 2007. Cho will succeed Joo-Hoon (J.H.) Lee who has
served in the role since joining the global industry association in 1995.
Lee will serve in an advisory capacity to Cho through December 31, 2007.
Cho assumes full responsibility for SEMI operations in Korea and
oversees the association's programs, products and services in the region.
He is responsible for relationships with SEMI members as well as industry,
government and academia in Korea. Additionally, he supports SEMI
international programs and serves SEMI members from all regions that have
interests in the Korean markets for technology and materials to manufacture
semiconductors, displays and related electronic products.

guiding our activities in the major markets for advanced manufacturing

Prior to joining SEMI, H.D. Cho was the representative director of
Photon Dynamics Korea. Before that, he served in various roles at several
Korean technology companies including: country manager for Metron
Technology Korea Ltd.; representative director of Materials Research
Corporation Korea Co., Ltd; and country export and manufacturing director
at Digital Equipment Korea, Inc.
Cho received a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Business
Administration from Korea University in Seoul. His MBA thesis was
"Strategic Alliances in the Semiconductor Industry." He also completed an
Executive Program for Senior Management in the Semiconductor Industry from
the Graduate School of Industrial Engineering, Korea University.
Following his accomplished 40-year career in the semiconductor
industry, Joo-Hoon (J.H.) Lee will assist in the leadership transition and
serve in an advisory capacity to Cho through 2007. Lee began at Fairchild
as a test engineer in 1967 and subsequently held positions at Univac
Computer, Korean Micro Systems Inc., Hyundai Semiconductor, Stats ChipPak
Korea and LTX Korea.
