Reliv International Expands Scientific Advisory Board With Internationally Recognized Pharmacologist and Nutraceutical Expert

    CHESTERFIELD, Mo., Jan. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Reliv
International, Inc. (Nasdaq: RELV), a developer, manufacturer and marketer
of a proprietary line of nutritional supplements, has expanded its
Scientific Advisory Board with the addition of two new members with
sterling international reputations: pharmacologist James Jamieson of St.
Louis and nutraceutical expert Dr. Clare M. Hasler of Davis, Calif.
"These two scientists bring tremendous experience to Reliv. Their
expertise complements the expertise of our other Scientific Advisory Board
members, both of whom are physicians," said Reliv Vice President Dr. Carl
W. Hastings, who heads the company's research and development. "The Reliv
Scientific Advisory Board reviews potential new ingredients, evaluates new
products and provides recommendations to support Reliv's research,"
Hastings said.
James Jamieson is a world-renowned pharmacologist who has consulted for
Merck & Co., 3M, GlaxoSmithKline, Armour Pharmaceutical, Hoffmann-LaRoche,
Warner Lambert and Dow Chemical. He has developed more that 100
pharmaceutical products and is recognized as an expert in drug delivery

Jamieson created the first acetaminophen tablet; the first non-alcohol
based children's cough and cold formula, Triaminic; the first topical
vitamin C; Sinex Nasal Spray; and he worked on the development of the
nitroglycerine patch.
For years Jamieson has been an authority figure on the subject of anti-
aging, and he co-authored the book, Growth Hormone: The Methuselah Factor,
which has sold more than 1.5 million copies. His company supplies Reliv
with symbiotropin, one of the active ingredients in the ReversAge product.
Jamieson is actually a third generation scientist. His grandfather
manufactured the first oral penicillin and the first liquid antacid. His
parents owned pharmacies in St. Louis. And Jamieson, himself, founded three
pharmacy chains and the first mail-order pharmacy in the United States.
He was educated at Washington University in St. Louis and is a graduate
of the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. He and his wife live in the St. Louis
area.
Dr. Clare Hasler is an internationally recognized expert in the areas
of functional foods and nutraceuticals. She is founding executive director
of the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science at the University
of California, Davis, and she is a distinguished lecturer for the Institute
of Food Technologists. She serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of
Nutraceuticals, Functional Foods and Medical Foods and the Journal of the
American Nutraceutical Association, among other editorial positions.
Hasler was the founding director of the Functional Foods for Health
Program, a joint effort between the University of Illinois at Chicago and
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has written extensively on
functional foods and other health-related issues. Dr. Hasler earned a dual
Ph.D. in Human Nutrition and Environmental Toxicology from Michigan State
