JOHNSTOWN, Pa., Jan. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AmeriServ Financial,
Inc. (Nasdaq: ASRV) Chairman of the Board of Directors Craig G. Ford today
announced the appointment of Allan R. Dennison as a director of the $1 billion
holding company. AmeriServ Financial, Inc. is the holding company for
AmeriServ Financial bank, with 22 offices in five Pennsylvania counties.
Dennison was appointed president and CEO of AmeriServ Financial, Inc. in
January 2004.

Dennison has more than 36 years of banking experience. Prior to joining
AmeriServ he served as president and CEO of Swineford National Bank
headquartered in Snyder County, PA. He also held senior positions with Mellon
Bank of Pittsburgh and Huntington National Bank in Cleveland, OH. Dennison is
a native of McKeesport, PA and a graduate of Penn State University.
