ABN AMRO Mortgage Ranks Highest in Customer Satisfaction, Primary Mortgage Sales

           According to the J.D. Power and Associates 2005 Primary
                        Mortgage Origination Study(SM)

    ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- ABN AMRO Mortgage has received
the award for ranking highest in customer sales satisfaction among 13 profiled
mortgage lenders, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2005 Primary
Mortgage Origination Study(SM).

    ABN AMRO Mortgage Group ranked highest in customer satisfaction with an
overall score of 756, compared to the industry average of 699 on a 1,000-point
scale. J.D. Power and Associates 2005 Primary Mortgage Origination Study is
based on 4,498 responses from consumers surveyed in August-October 2005 who
originated a new mortgage.  J.D. Power and Associates (http://www.jdpower.com)

    According to the J.D. Power and Associates 2005 Primary Mortgage
Origination Study, ABN AMRO Mortgage performed especially well within the
closing process among lenders and received strong scores for the
application/approval process and the quality of service offered by the loan
officer/representative or mortgage brokers.  The study indicated that AAMG
customers recommend their lender to an average of 3.3 people, compared to the
average recommendation of 1.6.
    A representative from J.D. Power and Associates will honor ABN AMRO at ABN
AMRO Mortgage Group headquarters, 6300 InterFirst Drive, Ann Arbor, on
Thursday, February 2, 2006, at 2 p.m.  Goldstein and William Newman, president
of InterFirst Wholesale Mortgage Lending, will accept the honor on behalf of
AAMG.  Photo opportunities will be available.
