HOUSTON, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Ocean Energy (NYSE: OEI) today announced
that Bruce W. Busmire has been named Vice President, Investor Relations.
Busmire joins Ocean from Altura Energy Ltd., where he served for three
years as Controller for the Houston-based partnership between BP Amoco and
Shell. Prior to that assignment, he was with Amoco for 16 years, holding
various positions in finance, accounting and in Investor Relations.

communicate our goals and strategies with our shareholders and the investment
community," said William L. Transier, Executive Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer. "Bruce's knowledge of the industry from a financial and
investor perspective will be invaluable to us as we enter a period of
operational growth."
Busmire earned his master of management degree from Northwestern
University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management in 1992. He also holds a
CPA and a BBA in accounting from Lamar University.
