WARRENDALE, Pa., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- American Eagle Outfitters, Inc.
(Nasdaq: AEOS) today announced total sales for the four fiscal weeks ended
January 30, 1999 increased 51.0% to $32.3 million from $21.4 million for the
four week period ended January 31, 1998. Comparable sales for the 1999 period
were up 33.5% compared to the corresponding four week period last year.
Sales for the fifty-two weeks ended January 30, 1999 were $587.6 million
compared to $405.7 million for the fifty-two week period last year, an
increase of 44.8%. Comparable store sales for the fifty-two weeks ended
January 30, 1999 increased 32.1%, compared to the corresponding fifty-two week
period ended January 31, 1998.
