Noveon, Inc. Announces Two Senior Management Appointments

    CLEVELAND, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Noveon, Inc. has strengthened its senior
management team with the appointments of Julian M. Steinberg and Michael A.
Hamel to key leadership positions. Noveon is a leading global producer and
marketer of technologically advanced specialty chemicals for a broad range of
consumer and industrial applications.  The company has sales of $1.1 billion
and employs 2,800 at 42 facilities around the world.

    Steinberg has rejoined the company as Vice President Global Marketing and
Business Development and General Manager, Estane(R) Americas.  Estane(R) is a
thermoplastic polyurethane used in a broad range of products, including film
and sheet, wire and cable insulation and athletic equipment.  Steinberg was
Commercial Vice President - Specialty Plastics for the BFGoodrich Performance
Materials Segment before joining Compx International in 2000.
    Hamel has joined Noveon as Global Sourcing Director, with responsibility
for all of the company's purchasing activities throughout the world.  Prior to
joining Noveon, he was Corporate Director of Supply Chain Management/
Development with PolyOne Corporation in Cleveland.
    Commenting on the appointments, Steven J. Demetriou, Noveon President and
Chief Executive Officer, said, "We have put together an extremely capable and
experienced senior management group that will allow us to focus on profitable

    Noveon was formed as an independent entity on February 28, 2001 when an
investor group comprised of AEA Investors Inc., and affiliates of DLJ Merchant
Banking Partners and DB Capital Partners, Inc., acquired the Performance
Materials business from The B.F.Goodrich Company. Noveon is headquartered in
Cleveland, Ohio, with regional centers in Brussels, Belgium, and Hong Kong.
