TD Waterhouse Unveils Significant Enhancements To Advisor Referral Program At Partnership 2005

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At Partnership 2005, TD
Waterhouse's annual national conference for the financial planning community,
the firm today unveiled the much-anticipated details of the re-launch of
AdvisorDirect, the firm's customer referral program for independent financial
advisors.
"TD Waterhouse remains committed to helping advisors grow their
businesses. We've overhauled our AdvisorDirect referral program in order to
provide more qualified and targeted leads for advisors," said Thomas A. Nally,
senior vice president of Brokerage Services for TD Waterhouse Institutional
Services. "Our goal is to increase the rate of converted accounts for
advisors by providing an enhanced, tailored program that matches the right
high-net-worth customer to the right independent financial advisor."
The new AdvisorDirect program launches on March 1, 2005. Since the
program's inception in 1999, AdvisorDirect has helped fill the wealth
management needs of many TD Waterhouse retail customers and has helped many
advisors grow their businesses.

    Enhancements to the program include:

     * Customer participation minimums raised from $100,000 to $200,000 -
provides a more realistic match to advisor firm minimums
     * Restructured branch assignments - provides advisors with a more
       manageable, focused relationship
     * Streamlined referral process - customers will now be referred to one
       advisor at a time
     * Reintroduction of advisor seminars - provides personal contact between
       the advisor and potential referrals
     * Enhanced branch Investment Consultant training - to help generate
       better quality referrals for advisors
     * Fee sharing component - to increase the level of commitment by advisors
       and TD Waterhouse
     * AdvisorDirect quarterly reports - allows the advisor to view their
AdvisorDirect activity, and to evaluate their impact in the program

"Through a streamlined referral process, better training and coordination
among business units, and a restructured branch allocation system, we are
confident that advisors will find success with our new program," said Mr.
Nally. "Most importantly, we're further strengthening the relationship with
our customers, by providing an enhanced service experience for those seeking
discretionary, full-service advice from an independent financial advisor."
