Raytheon Earns Corporate Leadership Award from L.A. Chamber of Commerce

    LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognizing the commitment of
Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) to good corporate citizenship locally and
internationally, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce honored the firm
with the Corporate Leadership Award Jan. 31 at the organization's 119th
annual inaugural dinner.

    "It's been said that homes are where jobs go to sleep, and making sure
our employees are safe, have access to great education, and are living in
truly sustainable environments is central to our beliefs," said Pat
Coulter, vice president for Communications and Public Affairs at Raytheon's
Space and Airborne Systems business, headquartered in El Segundo, Calif.

public officials, the business community, and the surrounding communities
to help ensure the L.A. area continues to be an international beacon for
people to live and work."

    Raytheon's largest presence in California is in El Segundo where the
company has reduced its energy use by 25 percent in the past two years. Its
efforts in El Segundo to promote a clean environment and conserve energy
resources have resulted in the Air Quality and Diamond awards from the
South Coast Air Quality Management District for pollution reduction through
commuter services and for promoting the Metro Annual Transit Pass,
respectively, and the Corporate Citizen Award from Los Angeles County
Supervisor Don Knabe for compliance with wastewater discharge limits. The
company has about 12,000 employees in the Los Angeles area.
