    NEW YORK, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Journey CD presents the
first recording of composer and conductor John Williams' official theme "Call
of the Champions" for the Olympic Winter Games of 2002.  Before a worldwide
television audience on February 8, 2002, Williams will conduct "Call of the
Champions" live during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games with
the Utah Symphony Orchestra and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  "Call of the
Champions" was recorded in Salt Lake City with the Utah Symphony and the
360-voice Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  The CD was released on January 15, 2002
from Sony Classical.

    Williams has been writing official music for Olympic celebrations since
the 1984 Summer Games in Los Angeles.  His 1996 recording Summon the Heroes
featured the official music he composed for the 1996 Olympic Summer Games in
Atlanta.  Beyond Olympics music, John Williams has earned his place as the
dean of the film industry's composers.  With 39 Oscar nominations to his
credit, he has won the Academy Award five times for Best Original Score and
has also won 16 Grammys, four BAFTA awards, three Golden Globes and two Emmys.
