Heather Headley Nabs Soul Train Music Award Nomination for Best New Artist

NEW YORK, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Awards season arrived in style for singer
Heather Headley, as the incomparable RCA Records artist has landed a Soul
Train Music Award nomination in the Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist category.
Set for national broadcast on March 1 from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, the
Soul Train Music Awards are among the most prestigious in urban music. Other
nominees in Heather's category include Amerie, Nappy Roots and Tweet. Heather
herself is planning to attend the Soul Train Music Awards next month.
Recently, the singer filmed what will be her motion picture debut.
Heather took command of a Hollywood soundstage for the upcoming Screen
Gems/Sony Pictures release, "The Breakup Handbook," which stars Jamie Foxx,
Morris Chestnut and Gabrielle Union. In the movie, Heather performs "He Is,"
the same hit single that perched at the #1 spot for two weeks straight on
Billboard's Urban Monitor chart.
"I Wish I Wasn't" is the newest single from Heather's RCA debut album THIS
IS WHO I AM. Written, produced and arranged by the legendary team of Jimmy
Jam & Terry Lewis (Janet Jackson, Usher, Mary J. Blige), the new single
impacts radio in early March. The release of the single coincides with a pair
of high-end media profiles of Heather, one a multi-page photo spread in the
April issue of Honey magazine, as well as an extensive spread in the May
anniversary issue of Essence magazine.
