Reader's Digest Magazine Names Barbara O'Dair Executive Editor

    PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Reader's Digest Editor-in-
chief Peggy Northrop today announced the hiring of her second Executive
Editor, Barbara O'Dair. O'Dair will share Executive Editor responsibilities
with Tom Prince, who recently joined the magazine.

    "Barbara has an impressive track record in publishing and she is one of
the most energetic editors I've ever worked with," said Northrop. "Barbara
and Tom bring a range of complementary experiences and skills that make

    O'Dair most recently was Executive Editor at More, where she worked
closely with Northrop on the award-winning publication's successful
evolution. Her notable career spans a number of key editorial positions.
She was a Senior Editor on the launch team at Entertainment Weekly
(1990-1992), Deputy Editor of Rolling Stone (1992-1994), Editor of US
magazine (1994-1998), Executive Editor of Details (1998-1999) and Harper's
Bazaar (1999 - 2000), Managing Editor at Teen People (2001-2003) and
Editor, Time Inc. Interactive (2003-2004).

    While at Wenner Media, O'Dair edited the acclaimed The Rolling Stone
Book of Women In Rock (1997) and wrote and contributed essays to numerous
books published under the Rolling Stone imprint.
