SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Rudy Giuliani, former New York City
mayor, will serve as honorary chairman of the U.S. Olympic Spirit Award for
the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

The U.S. Olympic Spirit Award was created in 1968 by the United States
Organizing Committee to acknowledge American athletes who not only perform
well in the Olympic Games, but who have also overcome physical and emotional
adversity to reach their Olympic goals. Previous award winners include Rulon
Gardner, Laura Wilkinson, Dan Jansen, Greg Louganis, Gail Devers and Kerry
Strug.

the official sponsor of the 2002 and 2004 U.S. Olympic Spirit Award.

Giuliani will serve as honorary chairman of the Selection Committee

U.S. Olympic Spirit Award based on public input, and U.S. Olympic Spirit Award

the winners with their awards on national television shortly after the close
the 2002 Winter Games.
