S&P Lowers Rating on Sumitomo Mitsui Banking-Support MTN's
 
    NEW YORK, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's today lowered its
ratings for 15 Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. IRC supported medium-term note
programs (see list).
    The rating action follows the Feb. 4, 2002, downgrade of Sumitomo Mitsui
Banking Corp.'s long-term rating and removal from CreditWatch.
