North American International Auto Show Announces 2005 Show Dates

    DETROIT, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The North American International Auto Show
(NAIAS) today announced the dates of its 2005 show at Cobo Center.

    Press Preview Days will be held Sunday, Jan. 9, through Tuesday, Jan. 11,
2005.  In 2004, during the three-day Press Preview period, more than 6,600
media from 66 countries around the world witnessed the introduction of 79
vehicles, including 55 worldwide debuts.
    Industry Preview Days will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, and Thursday,
Jan. 13, 2005.  In 2004, more than 29,000 employees representing 2,000
automotive manufacturers, suppliers and other industry-related companies from
20 countries, attended Industry Preview Days.  This venue provides an
exclusive opportunity for companies in the automotive industry to invite key
contacts, suppliers and employees to preview the NAIAS before the show opens
to the public.
    Charity Preview will be held Friday evening, Jan. 14, 2005.  This annual
black-tie fundraising gala raised a record $7 million for Southeastern
Michigan's children's charities in 2004 by selling all 17,500 tickets at $400
each.  The public is encouraged to call 888-838-7500 to be placed on a wait
list for the 2005 event.
    Public Days will be Saturday, Jan. 15, through Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005.  The
NAIAS 2004 show attracted more than 808,000 visitors.
    All events listed above will be held at Cobo Center in Detroit.  The 2005
NAIAS leadership includes Bill Cook, of Cook Imports (Farmington Hills, Mich.,
a Suburban Collection dealership), Sr. Co-Chairman, NAIAS 2005; Richard
Genthe, of Dick Genthe Chevrolet (Southgate, Mich.), Co-Chairman, NAIAS 2005;
and Rod Alberts, Executive Director of the NAIAS.

    About Bill Cook
    Bill Cook is senior co-chairman of the NAIAS 2005.  He served as
co-chairman of the NAIAS 2004 and on the executive committee of the Detroit
Auto Dealers Association (DADA) as president (2002-2003), vice president
(2001-2002), secretary/treasurer (2000-2001), and was on the board of
directors of the DADA from 1998-2000.  Currently, Cook serves on the advisory
committee of the DADA Charitable Foundation Fund and is a member of the
national advisory council for Mazda Motors North America.

    About Richard Genthe
    Richard Genthe is co-chairman of the NAIAS 2005 and serves on the
executive committee of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA).  He is the
DADA's current president (2003-2004), and has served as vice president (2002-
2003), and treasurer (2001-2002).  Currently, he serves on the advisory
committee of the DADA Charitable Foundation Fund.  A Chevrolet dealer of 27
years, Genthe is involved in several associations.  He is past president of
the Greater Detroit Chevrolet Dealers Association and the Metropolitan Detroit
Chevrolet Dealers Advertising Association.  Genthe serves as vice chairman of
the board for the Sacred Heart Major Seminary Foundation.

    About Rod Alberts
    Rod Alberts is the executive director of the NAIAS and the Detroit Auto
Dealers Association.  He also has served as president of the national
Automotive Trade Association Executives (ATAE), an affiliation of the National
Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).  Alberts is a member of the host
committee for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.  He is a member
of the board of directors of the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau,
and the board of directors of the Automotive Hall of Fame.
