New Partner Relationship Management System, Training Tools and Broader
Lineup of Security Software Attract a Growing Number of Channel Partners
SAN FRANCISCO, RSA Conference, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Websense, Inc. (Nasdaq: WBSN), today announced several new enhancements to
its partner program, designed to make doing business with Websense easier
and more profitable -- enabling them to deliver solutions that address the
top business computer security concerns: preventing the unauthorized use or
disclosure of confidential data and protecting users and data from external
malicious threats.
To help partners tap into the growing information leak prevention
market, Websense launched an extension of its industry-leading channel
program tailored to security-focused resellers with security software
installation, consulting, training and education services. The program will
provide training, support, opportunities and promotions partners committed
to growth and success of the new Websense(R) Content Protection Suite
software. (See today's press release: "Websense Bolsters Internal and
External Security Threat Protection").
"The number one concern for CISOs today is to have the systems and
solutions in place to protect their organizations' most critical asset --
their information," said Dan Burns, vice president sales and co-founder,
Accuvant. "We've looked at other information leak prevention technology and
firmly believe that with the acquisition of PortAuthority Technologies,
Websense now has the best solution on the market. With a rewarding partner
program in place and a unique product strategy, we're excited to be able to
provide our customers with the Websense solutions they need to combat
today's internal threats."
For the broader set of Websense channel partners, Websense introduced a
new Learning Management System (LMS) to make it easier for partners to get
training on the solutions they need to know, in the medium they want to
learn in -- online or instructor-led. With several new learning paths,
courses and sales tools, channel partners now have access to comprehensive
on-demand sales training and technical certifications. The new learning
management system is integrated into Websense's Partner Relationship
Management system (PRM) which provides partners with secure and customized
access to the on-demand partner portal. Through the PRM system, Websense
also provides regular security alerts, product updates, newsletters and
Webcasts to ensure partners are armed with the most up-to-date information.
Launched in August of 2006, the Websense Partner Program is growing at
a rapid rate, with more than 1,500 partners in North America and 4,000
worldwide. In the fourth quarter of 2006, Websense added 157 new solution
providers into the Websense Partner Program and re-engaged with more than
70 solution providers.
"Websense provides a unique lineup of security software that fills gaps
left behind by traditional security products," says Tema Mueller, director
of marketing, security, storage and business software for Softchoice, a
leading North America provider of technology and services. "Security
software is a high-demand area for our customers, and we are excited about
the increased revenue opportunities, ease of doing business and new PRM and
LMS systems. Websense has put the benefits and processes in place to drive
more sales and better educate its partners. We expect to see more good
things from Websense as the company strengthens its channel partner program
and delivers additional security solutions targeted at internal and
external threat protection."
"Websense is serious about the success of its partners and will
continue to invest in the resources and technology solutions providers need
to protect and service their clients' networks," says David Roberts, vice
president of sales and channel Americas, Websense. "Web-based threats and
information leakage are two of the most pressing security issues facing the
market today. By joining our channel partner program and taking advantage
of the resources and new technology Websense offers, solution providers are
better prepared to solve the dynamic security needs of their clients."
"We have big plans for the channel in 2007," concludes Roberts. "From
training and certifications, to marketing support and innovative technology
solutions that proactively address Web-based threats and prevent
information leaks, Websense is ready to support our partners every step of
the way."
