Bayer Health Care Partners Forms Strategic Alliance With Molnlycke Health Care

Business Unit of Bayer Corporation to Represent Molnlycke to Nation's Largest
                      Hospital and Purchasing Alliances

PHILADELPHIA, Pa., and WEST HAVEN, Conn., Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Bayer
Health Care Partners (BHCP) and Molnlycke Health Care announced today that
they have entered into a five-year account management and consulting
agreement. According to the agreement, BHCP will represent Molnlycke's wound
care product portfolio to major U.S. group purchasing alliances, investor-
owned hospitals, integrated delivery systems, and long-term care providers.
BHCP, formed in 1997, already represents the Bayer Consumer Care, Bayer
Diagnostics and Bayer Pharmaceutical divisions, as well as its alliance
partners, AGFA Medical Imaging and Schein Pharmaceutical.
Molnlycke Health Care (pronounced: MUN licka) provides products featuring
Safetac(TM) technology. This proprietary technology addresses modern concerns
in wound management, notably the pain and trauma associated with dressing
changes, which disrupt the wound healing process.
"We are proud to enter into this strategic alliance with Bayer Health Care
Partners, a recognized leader and one of the country's pre-eminent Health Care
System sales and marketing service providers," said Bertrand Hughes, President
of Molnlycke Health Care US. Gerald Rosenberg, Chairman of Bayer Health Care
Partners, said, "This agreement underscores the commitment Bayer has to the
market and indicates the type of success we bring with BHCP."
Bob Simmons, President of Healthcare Alliance, Inc., a Chicago-based
health care consulting firm, hailed the agreement. "This is exactly the right
fit for both of these organizations. Molnlycke gains the access and expertise
of the Bayer Health Care Partners' organization, while Bayer enjoys an even
larger business base to represent in the market," he said.
