Visitors cruising into the 2001 Pittsburgh Auto Show at the David L.
Lawrence Convention Center, 1001 Penn Avenue in Pittsburgh, which runs
February 10 - 18, will not only be able to take in the latest in wheels but
can also renew their vehicle registrations and driver licenses at the most
unusual bus in the Commonwealth. The PennMobile, PennDOT's Driver and Vehicle
Services Bus, will be open for service outside of the David L. Lawrence
Convention Center, at the corner of Tenth Street and Penn Avenue, on Friday,
February 16, from 4 - 8 p.m.; Saturday, February 17, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
and Sunday, February 18, from noon to 5 p.m.
In keeping with Governor Tom Ridge's goal of making state government more
accessible and customer-friendly, the PennMobile offers a wide variety of
services enabling visitors to renew driver licenses and vehicle registrations,
attain photo identification cards, complete change of address requests,
purchase special license plates, and more.
Recognized for outstanding innovation and convenience, the PennMobile has
visited more than 165 sites throughout the Commonwealth and has served over
60,000 customers since its unveiling by Secretary Bradley L. Mallory in 1997.
