- Stores Nationwide Promote March National Craft Month -
IRVING, Texas, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Kids love to use their imagination.
They often dream up imaginary friends to play with! Michaels Stores, Inc.
(NYSE: MIK), in partnership with Crayola, will give kids of all ages the
opportunity to bring imaginary friends to life during a free event during
March.
Michaels Stores, Inc. will host a "Build-a-Buddy" Free Family Event at
each of their 846 stores across the United States and Canada. Promoting
National Craft Month and crafting in general, the come-and-go, family oriented
activity will take place on Saturday, March 19 from 10:00am until 3:00pm local
time. The event is intended to introduce children and parents to the fun and
quality time families can share as they craft together.
Young and old alike will mold Crayola Model Magic into a character from
the imagination and then add plastic pieces to create a unique "buddy" to take
home. Crayola is sponsoring the event.
National Craft Month is sponsored by CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) and
will continue throughout March at all Michaels stores. During each of the
five weeks in the month, stores will conduct a variety of free product
demonstrations, free craft activities and craft classes focused on a theme.
The month kicks off with a free Scrapbook Discovery Day, an interactive event
designed to introduce Scrapbooking to customers. The 4-hour event will be
held on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 1p.m. Visit a Michaels store for
