Exinda 6720's High Processing Power Adds No Latency for Network Applications
SEATTLE, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Exinda Networks today introduced its new
Exinda 6720, the industry's first appliance for enterprises' core networks
that combines full layer 7 network management functionality at high speeds
with the lowest price among competitive products.
The Exinda 6720 runs from 100 Megabits per second to 1 Gigabit per second
and supports 1 million application connections. The 6720 reduces network
costs by requiring fewer network management appliances at the data center.
The Exinda 6720 offers superior wide area network (WAN) traffic optimization
over competitive appliances that optimize traffic at the network (layer 3) and
transport (layer 4) layers. The Exinda 6720's layer 7 functionality utilizes
detailed application layer information, including individual users and URLs,
to make the most efficient traffic management decisions to prioritize critical
business applications over less critical and recreational applications.
Exinda 6720's Powerful Processing Adds No Latency to Network Applications
The Exinda 6720 is robust in its ability to manage a high flux of sessions
being continually added and dropped from the enterprise network. It operates
at gigabit speeds while maintaining layer 7 New Connection Rate (L7NCR) of
over 300,000 new connections per minute. Its powerful processing capability
means there is no effect on application latency.
"Exinda recognizes that the ability to manage network traffic at layer 7
is critical for today's network environment," said Con Nikolouzakis, Exinda's
executive director. "The Exinda 6720 utilizes layer 7 information for the
most intelligent traffic classification and prioritization. With its powerful
processing capabilities, network managers can rest assured that the Exinda
6720 fully optimizes the network."
Pricing and Availability
Pricing for the Exinda 6720 ranges from $24,900 to $39,900 (U.S. Dollars)
for speeds from 100 Megabits per second to 1 Gigabit per second. Exinda's
pricing is 50 percent below some competitive appliances that run at gigabit
speeds. The product will be shipping at the end of March 2006.
Exinda Networks partnered with Sensory Networks, a leading OEM provider of
network acceleration technology, to deliver this significantly faster new
appliance. The new Exinda 6720 appliance will be part of the Sensory Networks
exhibit (booth # 1923) at the RSA Conference from February 13-17, 2006, in San
Jose, California.
"We are pleased to partner with Exinda and bring to market the first
network monitoring and optimization appliance powered by Sensory Networks'
NodalCore(R) acceleration technology," said Matt Barrie, chief executive
officer of Sensory Networks. "Our NodalCore(R) C-2000 PCI accelerator card
enables security appliances to achieve market leading performance and
accuracy."
The Exinda 6720 complements the entire Exinda product family. In a
typical enterprise network, the Exinda 6720 would provide high speed network
management of the core infrastructure while the Exinda 4700 would manage the
distribution network from the mid-to-large size branch offices and the Exinda
1700 serves the needs of the small branch offices.
