TORONTO, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Redknee Inc., a leading provider of
innovative infrastructure software that monetizes and personalizes services
and content for mobile users, today announced it has secured a contract from
O2 Ireland. Redknee's mCommerce Gateway (MCG) provides O2 Ireland customers
with the ability to make mobile payments for i-mode subscriptions, content and
media using their mobile handsets.
O2 Ireland, a leader in mobile telecommunications that provides a wide
range of communication services in Europe, will be the first operator in
Ireland to enable its subscribers to make flexible and convenient mobile
payments with the ability to manage and control expenditures. O2 Ireland is
using Redknee's MCG to handle payments for all subscriptions to O2's many
i-mode partners.
Redknee's MCG provides a secure interface for managing multiple content
partnerships, accepting credit and debit cards, pre- and post-paid accounts,
using authentication methods for both the subscriber and merchant, and allows
both the operator and subscriber to define monthly maximum limits for mobile
retail spending.
