SAN FRANCISCO, RSA Conference Booth #650, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ --
Security software developer CyberDefender Corporation
(http://www.cyberdefender.com) announced today that it will donate $5,000 to the
James Kim Memorial Fund. The contribution concludes the company's
fund-raising program which was launched in early January.
The program was established by CyberDefender to honor CNET Senior
Editor James Kim, who died in the rugged wilderness of Oregon while trying
to save his family this past December. CyberDefender hopes the money raised
will help accomplish Kim's most important mission, taking care of his wife
Kati Kim, and the couple's two daughters, Penelope, four, and Sabine, seven
months. For more information, please visit http://www.cyberdefender.com/jameskim.
"We are proud to have sponsored this initiative," said Gary Guseinov,
chief executive officer, CyberDefender Corp. "Mr. Kim's undeniable
dedication to the safety and well being of his family is commendable.
Helping his wife Kati Kim in caring for their two daughters was a natural
fit for us."
CyberDefender Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications Alan
Wallace is a close friend of the Kim family.
Officially launched during CES on January 8, 2007, Early Detection
Center is CyberDefender's ad-free Internet security suite designed to
provide rapid detection and protection from fast-moving online security
threats. It finds infections other security software miss, while catching
spyware, viruses, phishing attempts and other malicious attacks much
earlier in the cycle. Early Detection Center takes advantage of
CyberDefender's patent-pending earlyNETWORK(TM), the world's first
client-to-client system for security updates, which achieves significantly
earlier detection and immunization of PCs while working in tandem with
other Internet security software. The Early Detection Center suite is
available by subscription only. The yearly single subscription price is
$11.99.
