(NYSE: SPW) today announced its board of directors has appointed Lee Powell
as an officer of the company. Powell joined SPX in August, 2005 as segment
president, industrial products and services, and he will continue to serve
in that role. Prior to joining SPX, he spent nine years with the Invensys
PLC appliance controls group. During this time he served in various roles,
eventually as president of the group. He was instrumental in integrating
the Eaton appliance controls group into Invensys PLC and helping to refocus
this entity on innovative customer value propositions to drive growth.
His background also includes positions with Asea Brown Boveri, Johnson
& Johnson and KPMG Peat Marwick.
