GRC International Announces New Senior Executive To Extend Company's Information Technology Services to Navy Customers

    VIENNA, Va., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- GRC International (NYSE: GRH) today
announced R. Paul Ilg, 60, has been appointed Senior Vice President and
Director of the company's SWL Division. Mr. Ilg brings to the position nearly
ten years of professional experience as a commercial business executive
serving the technical and service needs of the federal government and military
services. He also brings more than 30 years of related military experience,
which culminated after his achieving the rank of Vice Admiral in the U.S Navy.

    Mr. Ilg's most recent experience was as Executive Vice President of MELE
Associates where he was responsible for the company's program operations,
contracts, administration and personnel. MELE Associates is a diversified
high-technology company serving clients in the areas of information
technology, telecommunications services, and engineering services.
    Prior to joining MELE, Mr. Ilg was Program Manager with JUPITER Corp.
where he provided technical support to the Department of Energy's New
Production Reactor Program. Before joining JUPITER, Mr. Ilg provided
management consulting expertise to the Department of Energy and commercial
businesses working on the development of U.S. Navy medium attack stealth
aircraft.
    Mr. Ilg began his naval career as an aviator in 1960 after graduating from
the U.S. Naval Academy. He entered flight school in Pensacola, Fla., and
served in a number of squadrons on the U.S.S. Midway, U.S.S. Enterprise,
U.S.S. Oriskany and U.S.S. Coral Sea. He was commanding officer of the nuclear
aircraft carrier U.S.S. Nimitz from 1981 to 1984.
    After achieving the rank of Rear Admiral in 1984 he became Deputy Chief of
Staff for Plans, Policy and Intelligence for the Supreme Allied Commander,
Atlantic, where he was responsible for NATO long-range planning for
conventional and nuclear warfare. He then became the Director of Research,
Development, Test, and Evaluation at the Pentagon overseeing the U.S. Navy's
$2.5 billion air, surface, and electronic warfare programs.
    As Commander, Carrier Battle Group Six and Battle Force Sixth Fleet, Mr.
Ilg was responsible for planning and directing all U.S. Naval-related
operational activities in and adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea. He then
served as Deputy Assistant Chief of Naval Operations for Air Warfare where he
was responsible for planning and execution of a $33 billion budget that
included acquisition, training, operation, maintenance, aircraft overhaul,
safety, and quality assurance for naval aircraft and carrier programs.
    Mr. Ilg retired as a Vice Admiral in 1991 when he was Deputy Commander in
Chief, U.S. Naval Forces, Europe. He was responsible for the operations,
readiness, and support of U.S. Naval forces assigned at sea and ashore in
Europe, the Middle East, and Northern Africa.
    Mr. Ilg graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., in 1960
with a BS in marine engineering.
