Online Version of CBS Marketwatch Survivor(TM) Contest Kicks Off This Week

    SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- MarketWatch.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: MKTW)
kicks off their CBS MarketWatch Survivor online investment competition this
week, giving investors the chance to test their financial savvy and win up to
$50,000.
    Upon enrolling in the Web game, players receive $100,000 in fantasy money.
The winner amassing the largest virtual portfolio by May 14, 2001 wins the
$50,000 grand prize.  Players can also compete to win thirteen weekly
$1,000 prizes, awarded after the end of each trading week.
    To enter the individual CBS MarketWatch Survivor game, go to the special

contest box at the CBS MarketWatch.com news site, http://cbs.marketwatch.com.
    Players must register for the online contest by March 5, 2001 to be
eligible for the $50,000 grand prize.  Players can register at any time
through May 6, 2001 for the $1,000 weekly prizes.  To be eligible for a weekly
prize, players must register before the Monday opening of the market and must
trade all five days of the trading week.  Prizes will be awarded beginning the
week ending Friday, February 16, 2001, with the last weekly prize made after
Friday, May 11, 2001.  The $50,000 grand prize will be awarded after the
contest closes on Monday, May 14, 2001.
