COSTA MESA, Calif., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- NADAguides.com
(http://www.NADAguides.com ), one of the world's leading automotive information
resources on the Web, today announced the results of its Olympic Survey. The
survey asked participants to select their favorite Olympic sport along with
the vehicle they currently drive.
Of the respondents polled, the majority of consumers who drive light duty
pick-up trucks and sports cars indicated they preferred men's downhill skiing
to all other Olympic sports. The survey also found that the majority of
passenger car drivers preferred women's figure skating above all other Olympic
events. And an overwhelming majority of SUV owners indicated they preferred
snowboarding to that of other sports at the Olympic games.
Results follow:
Type of Car Driven Preferred Olympic Sport
1. Light Duty Pick-up 1. Downhill Skiing - Men's
2. Sports Car 2. Downhill Skiing - Men's
3. Passenger Car 3. Figure Skating - Women's
4. SUV 4. Snowboarding
Additionally, results of the survey revealed the top ten Olympic sports
people prefer to watch. Of the ten that made the "most popular" list, the
little-known sport entitled "Skeleton" ranked in the top 3. After making its
debut in the 1928 Olympics and then appearing again in 1948, Skeleton all but
disappeared from the Olympic event roster. This year, it makes its triumphant
return to the Olympic games and, as indicated in the NADAguides.com survey, is
one of the highly anticipated events to watch. Skeleton is similar to luge,
however riders navigate the course while lying on their stomachs versus lying
on their backs. The sport got its name based on the fact that the sled the
rider uses resembles a skeleton.
