Dice Launches Additional Tools to Enable Companies to Comply With New OFCCP Internet Applicant Rule

NEW YORK, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Dice.com, the leading job board for
technology, security-cleared and engineering professionals, and
ClearanceJobs.com, the leading job board for professionals with active
security clearances, announced the launch of additional tools designed to help
their customers who are federal government contractors and subcontractors to
comply with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program's (OFCCP) rule
regarding "Internet Applicants," which went into effect Monday, February 6,
2006.
The OFCCP rule defines an "Internet Applicant" and specifies new record-
keeping requirements for federal government contractors and subcontractors who
engage in the recruiting and hiring process through the Internet and related
technologies, including resume database searching. Dice.com and
ClearanceJobs.com have enhanced their product offerings to provide tools and
resources to help their government contractor and subcontractor customers come
into compliance with the new rule.
"Based on our discussions with industry experts, legal advisors, and
representatives of the OFCCP, we are providing additional tools and reporting
services to make it easier for government contractors and subcontractors, who
use Dice.com and ClearanceJobs.com services, to comply with the new rule
regarding 'Internet Applicants,'" said Scot Melland, president and CEO of Dice
Inc.
According to Dice, the additional tools will feature:

-- Ability to designate a folder, OFCCP reference number and the basic
qualifications for each OFCCP regulated position prior to conducting a
       search
-- Modified summary search results so that the candidate name is not
displayed on the summary search results page
-- Ability to store all resumes viewed along with the date, search
criteria used, OFCCP reference number and OFCCP basic qualifications.
All data stored will be retained for two years
-- Data that will be available in Extensible Markup Language (XML) format
       upon request.

Dice also noted that usage of the enhanced tools does not translate to
automatic compliance. It is the ultimate responsibility of the government
contractors and subcontractors to make sure they are in compliance with the
new OFCCP rule.
