AURORA, Colo., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Financial statements of Pak Mail
Centers of America, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: PMCX) for fiscal year ending
November 30, 1998, reveal the company continues to experience strong, steady
growth for the fourth consecutive year. Total revenue grew by 11%, and the
net income figures show a 127% increase. Revenue was up by $451,000 to
$4.6 Million; net income rose to $436,000 from $192,000 in the previous year.
Two major contributing factors in this increase are in royalty income and
area franchise fees. Royalty income from the franchise system broke the
$2 Million mark, a 14.3% increase, and a franchise development agreement was
executed for Japan, the eighth foreign country to join Pak Mail's worldwide
expansion.
This upward financial trend reflects Pak Mail's continued focus to
increase the total number of franchises worldwide, control operating costs,
and closely monitor the quality of support to each individual franchise.
Franchisees pay 5% on net sales and the increase in royalty income correlates
directly with the increase in individual store income.
In 1998, Pak Mail launched its first national television advertising
campaign, added local apartment moving services (AM/PM Movers(R)), and further
cultivated "Biz Ship," a service that manages the outsourcing of logistical
solutions for small to medium-sized businesses.
Fifty-three (53) individual franchises were awarded domestically in 1998
and area franchise agreements were executed in the states of Washington,
Oregon, Idaho, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, adding additional
sales representation and support personnel for Pak Mail Centers in those
states.
"1998 was an excellent year for Pak Mail and our plans for 1999 should
continue the trend. In addition to the expansion of our franchise system, we
will be adding full Internet access services through Pak Mail retail outlets
with the addition of MyConnect.com, one of the largest, high quality networks
available to individuals and businesses. 'We ship anything, anywhere,' takes
on a greater connotation now that we have the ability to electronically
transmit data anywhere in the world," says Pak Mail CEO John Kelly.
