160 GB and 250 GB External Hard Drives Ideal for Quick and
Easy Storage and Backup
SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SimpleTech, Inc.
(Nasdaq: STEC), a designer, manufacturer and marketer of custom and
open-standard memory solutions based on Flash memory and DRAM technologies,
today announced the availability of the SimpleDrive External Hard Drive in
160 GB and 250 GB capacities, adding to its existing line of SimpleDrive
External Hard Drives. The products will be unveiled at the PMA (Photo
Marketing Association) trade show held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from
February 12-15, 2004. SimpleTech will exhibit in booth N-64.
"Demand for external storage is increasing among photographers and others
who need extra space to store digital images and other large multimedia

SimpleDrive External Hard Drive is ideal for storing large files as the drives

For added data safety and security, SimpleTech's StorageSync(TM) automatic
backup software for Windows is included free with the new desktop hard drive.
The software is easy to use and is completely automatic, enabling fast and
easy backup, restoration and synchronization for an entire PC or selected
files and folders.
The SimpleDrive offers lightning-fast storage with transfer speeds up to
480 Mb/sec. and operates at 7200 RPM for fast throughput. SimpleDrive
External Hard Drives are available with a USB 2.0 connection and are backward
compatible with USB 1.1 and compatible with Window's(R) and Macintosh(R)
operating systems. They also offer convenient plug-and-play installation and
are mass storage compliant and hot-swappable.
SimpleDrive External Hard Drives include a Kensington security lock slot
to prevent unauthorized removal of the SimpleDrive, providing the reliability
and security that users demand. A Kensington MicroSaver security cable can be
used to attach the drive to a secure and immovable object such as a wall or
desk.
With a newly designed fan-free sleek aluminum case, the drives dissipate
heat, providing ultra-quiet and cool operation. The SimpleDrive measures
5.51" (H) x 8.86" (L) X 1.35" (D).
Manufacturers suggested retail price for the SimpleDrive External Hard
Drive is $219.99 for the 160 GB capacity, and $369.00 for the 250 GB.
The 160 GB SimpleDrive External Hard Drive is now available and general
availability of the 250 GB is expected this month at BJ's Wholesales, Sam's
Club, Amazon.com, Buy.com, CDW, J&R Music World, Ingram Micro, Insight,
NewEgg, PC Connection, PC Mall, Zones, and SimpleTech's online retail store.
The SimpleDrive External Hard Drive comes with a one-year warranty backed
