OfficeMax Appoints Mayo Managing Director of Hawaii Operations

Expanded Position Covers Both HOPACO and OfficeMax operations in Islands

ITASCA, Ill., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- To better serve the needs
of Hawaii business and retail customers, OfficeMax(R) (NYSE: OMX), one of the
nation's largest distributors of office supplies, has named Rudy Mayo as
Managing Director for its complete Hawaii operations, including the HOPACO
business-to-business operations and OfficeMax retail operations.
Mayo will oversee the Waipi'o distribution center, the four HOPACO
business office locations and four OfficeMax retail stores. As part of this
expanded role, Mayo will be responsible for OfficeMax's new Retail Connect
program, which allows HOPACO's commercial customers to apply contract pricing
at OfficeMax stores.
"Rudy's experience and dedication in managing our contract operations will
be valuable as we find new ways to serve all of our customers," said Chris
Milliken, president and CEO of OfficeMax.
The HOPACO operation, which predominantly serves business and government
customers, will retain its well-established and respected brand name.
"The HOPACO brand has enjoyed a great reputation with Hawaii businesses
for many years," Milliken said. "We look forward to carrying this reputation
forward and expanding services and programs for our contract business
customers."
HOPACO's parent company, Boise Cascade Corporation, purchased OfficeMax in
December 2003 and merged it with its Boise Office Solutions(R) division, which
operated in Hawaii under the HOPACO brand. In November 2004, Boise Cascade
Corporation changed its name to OfficeMax Incorporated.
