Boise Paper Solutions' SPLOX Reamless Paper Delivery System Designed For
Faster, Easier and Safer Paper Carrying and Use in the Workplace
ITASCA, Ill., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- BOISE(SM) Paper Solutions today
introduced new paper packaging that will help businesses save time by helping
employees to load paper into printers and copiers three times faster than
regular ream-wrapped paper.
SPLOX(TM) -- short for speed-loading box -- is a 25-pound box containing
2,500 sheets of unwrapped, high-quality office paper. The intuitive SPLOX
"splay-open" design allows the entire stack of paper to be accessed from all
four sides in only two easy steps, making it quicker to load.
"The past few decades have brought many improvements in high-volume
printing equipment, software and digital technology, and as a result we have
found that 'old-fashioned' paper loading is often where the bottleneck occurs
in production," said Chris Forthaus, product manager with Boise Paper
Solutions. "Our new speed-loading box is designed to help open up the
bottleneck and make high-volume printing more efficient."
The SPLOX box also features an integrated handle, making it safer and
faster to lift, carry and load than traditional paper cartons. Employees can
more easily carry two 25-pound SPLOX boxes than one 50-pound, 10-ream carton
of ream-wrapped paper.
The National Occupational Research Agenda reports that workers'
compensation claims for lower back disorders cost approximately 100 million
lost work days each year. Also, back injuries account for one out of every
five workplace injuries or illnesses, according to the Bureau of Labor
Statistics. The majority of these injuries occur while employees are lifting.
The rate of back injuries can be even greater in paper-heavy work
environments such as quick printers, in-plant facilities, data centers and
corporate copy centers that place a heavy demand on bending and paper loading.
