Networking Innovator Demonstrates Framework for Network-Wide Security With
Emphasis on Innovation and Responsiveness
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Extreme Networks,
Inc., (Nasdaq: EXTR), the leader in open converged networks, is showcasing its
network security framework allowing best-in-class security to be integrated
into an open network at this week's RSA Conference. At its booth, #2234, the
Company is demonstrating how policy-driven security can be enforced within the
network using ExtremeXOS(TM), the first network operating system supporting
open APIs.
Extreme Networks is highlighting its ExtremeXOS operating system and open
API communication extensions that allow for real-time collaboration between
the network and Virtual Security Resources (VSRs). This innovative model
leverages Extreme Networks' CLEAR-Flow(TM) security rules engine and allows
best-in-class security technologies to work closely with the core network,
provide a faster response to threats and to scale security at all network
speeds.
At the edge of the network, Extreme Networks is showcasing how ExtremeXOS
supports Network Access Protection (NAP) from Microsoft, helping to ensure
that all new devices entering the network are authenticated, authorized and
within policy. Extreme Networks is also enhancing edge security for wired and
wireless networks with new partner AirTight Networks. The companies are
delivering advanced intrusion detection and management tools that defend
against various wireless threats, such as rogue APs and the loss of
information assets through unauthorized wireless use.
"Extreme Networks' open and collaborative approach to technology
development allows enterprises to truly scale innovative security
technologies," said Suresh Gopalakrishnan, vice president of marketing for
Extreme Networks, Inc. "RSA presents an excellent opportunity to demonstrate
our security framework and show customers how they can tightly integrate and
scale best-in-class security technologies using their networking
infrastructure."
