Series 60 Comes through for Owner/Operator

DETROIT, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Detroit Diesel Corporation and its
subsidiary, Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing Corporation, today announced it had
donated a completely remanufactured Series 60 engine to Darlene Swift of
Illinois to complement the truck make-over she received from the "Trick My
Truck" show that is featured on Country Music Television (CMT).

Ms. Swift, who owns a Freightliner Classic XL powered by a Series 60
heavy-duty engine, was selected out of hundreds of entries to have her truck
completely made-over with the help of CMT.
The make-over, which was performed by the Chrome Shop Mafia of 4-State
Trucks in Joplin, Missouri, included the installation of new leather couches,
a flat screen television, hardwood floors, new tires, new wheels, and even a
dog shower for Ms. Swift's constant companion on the road -- her dog Roeper.
In addition, although not part of the "Trick My Truck" show, Detroit Diesel
donated a remanufactured Series 60 engine to go along with the enhancements to
her new truck. The engine was installed courtesy of Barloworld Truck Center
in Springdale, Arkansas.
"We continually look for ways of creating unique mutually beneficial
relationships with our customers and are delighted at the chance of partnering
with Darlene," said Adam Arrington, General Manager of Barloworld's Springdale
dealership. "With facilities strategically located near major state and
interstate highways, offering extended hours of service, and factory-trained
technicians, Darlene is in good hands."
"When we found out that the make-over didn't include an engine, and seeing
that her Series 60 has almost one million miles on it, we wanted to make sure
we could help keep Darlene on the road for another million miles with one of
our superbly remanufactured engines," said Jim Morrow, President of Detroit
Diesel Remanufacturing Corporation. "This is a great opportunity to
demonstrate the high-quality of our reliabilt(R) Series 60(R). All components
of our reliabilt engines are remanufactured to meet original specifications,
or they are replaced with only genuine Detroit Diesel components."
Ms. Swift hauls refrigerated goods cross country for Wayne Baker Trucking
located in Taylor Ridge, Illinois. She estimates she's on the road for up to
three out of four weeks each month, so having a reliable and dependable engine
to keep her moving is critical.
"I love my Series 60 engine so I was thrilled when I heard that Detroit
Diesel was donating an engine to me to go along with my completely re-vamped
truck," said Darlene Swift, Owner/Operator. "I can't wait to put another
million miles or more on this Series 60. This engine delivers exactly what I
need for my business and more."
