SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Stratum8 Corporation, a
developer of Internet security solutions, today announced it will preview its
breakthrough Application Protection System (APS) at the RSA Security
Conference in San Jose, February 18-22 in San Jose. Stratum8 recently
announced a $10 million Series B funding round led by BA Venture Partners and
New Enterprise Associates.
Designed to act as a first line of defense at the Web application-level,
preventing Internet attacks from ever reaching a company's servers and
databases, Stratum8's APS complements network-level firewalls, intrusion
detection systems, authorization, and vulnerability assessment tools by
proactively blocking malicious HTML traffic in real-time.
"The problem with historical datapath solutions has been the introduction
of unacceptable network latency," said Abhishek Chauhan, Chief Technical
Officer for Stratum8. "A product doing real-time application analysis,
particularly at the depth that we achieve with the APS, must be incredibly
fast at its very core to be 'invisible' to network users. Our unique
processing and scheduling algorithms, combined with special threading
techniques, enable our APS to perform at nearly full utilization with no
perceptible latency."
The company will provide "sneak preview" demonstrations of the Stratum8
APS to select analysts, partners and customers in their suite at the San Jose
Fairmont Hotel. Stratum8's APS will be in general release April 2002.
