Mark D. Ketchum Named President and Chief Executive Officer of
Newell Rubbermaid, Inc.
ATLANTA, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Newell Rubbermaid Inc.
(NYSE: NWL) announced today that its Board of Directors appointed Mark D.
Ketchum as president and chief executive officer (CEO). He will continue as a
member of the Newell Rubbermaid Board. A CEO search was conducted by the
Board's search committee in partnership with an executive recruiting firm.

our analysis of Mark while he performed in the role of Interim CEO these last
4 months, it became clear that Mark is the right person to lead Newell
Rubbermaid in achieving excellence across our broad product portfolio. Mark
has a proven track record of product innovation, brand positioning, top-line
sales growth and operational excellence on a global basis. Our Board of
Directors believes he is the right person to lead Newell Rubbermaid on its
future path and bring strategic focus to the organization," said William

Ketchum, age 56, is a 33-year veteran of Procter & Gamble (P&G), who
brings operational, brand management and general management expertise to his
role at Newell Rubbermaid. Mark's early career was spent in various
operational roles, followed by a transition into brand management. His early
brand assignments included the US launch of Always(R) and completing the
national expansion of Puffs(R). As general manager of the tissue and towels
business, Mark is credited with repositioning the Charmin(R) and Bounty(R)
brands and driving their dramatic growth. His career culminated with his role
as President Global Baby and Family Care, where he led the global
repositioning and turnaround of the Pampers(R) brand. Mark retired from P&G
in November, 2004.

funeral services industries.
