leading provider of security software solutions, will demonstrate its Shavlik
HFNetChkPro(TM) 5 industry-leading patch management tool at RSA Conference
2005 in San Francisco, Calif., February 14 - 18, 2005.
Version 5 offers significant features and enhancements to provide the most
comprehensive patch management tool available, while continuing to provide
ease-of-use and the ability to get patched in 30 minutes or less.
Enhancements include:
-- SafeReboot -- Offers the most flexible reboot options on the market
today -- users can choose to reboot now, or reboot in "X" hours or
when all users have logged off the console, whichever comes first.
Administrators may specify whether or not the user can override or
delay the specified time until reboot.
-- Distribution Server -- Enables client machines to 'pull' patches from
a patch repository via http or file share, instead of pushing patches
to the client machine. This will allow client machines to obtain the
patch from servers that may be closer to them then the primary
scanning console, thus reducing network bandwidth.
-- Rollback Icons -- Allows users to visually see which patches have
uninstall capabilities by looking at the GUI.
-- New Reports with Charts, Graphs -- Includes 10 new reports such as
Executive Summaries, Machine Status and Detailed Scan Summary, each
with relevant charts and graphs.
-- E-mail Reports -- Allows users to automatically email scan and
deployment reports to machine owners, specified administrators and
other users after the completion of patch scans or before patch
deployments.

-- Shavlik HFNetChkPro(TM) 5 Plus -- Enterprise deployment and reporting
features combined with the power of HFNetChkPro(TM) 5.
Shavlik HFNetChkPro(TM) 5 will leverage the company's new common graphical
user interface (GUI) for all Shavlik applications called Shavlik NetChk(TM)
Epicenter(TM). Shavlik NetChk(TM) Epicenter(TM), the structure for additional
Shavlik security management products to be announced during 2005, can also be
seen during RSA Conference 2005 demonstrations of Shavlik NetChk(TM)
Spyware(TM).
Shavlik HFNetChkPro(TM) 5 will be available first quarter 2005. Customers
who purchase Shavlik HFNetChkPro(TM) 4 and an annual maintenance package will
receive a free upgrade to 5.
