ActivCard and Lenel to Distribute Joint Solution for Integrated Facilities and Network Security

Corporations and Governments Increase Security and Convenience, Save Money,
                     and Meet Regulations for Compliance

FREMONT, Calif., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ActivCard Corp.
(Nasdaq: ACTI), a global provider of identity assurance solutions for secure
remote access, single sign-on, enterprise access cards, and multi-channel
identification and verification, today announced a joint distribution
agreement with Lenel Systems International, a global Total Security Knowledge
Management Solution(TM) provider for government and industrial markets.
Through this agreement, ActivCard and Lenel will jointly market a solution for
physical access to facilities and logical access to networks.
The combined solution offers many benefits including increased security
and lower total cost of operation. In addition, the ActivCard and Lenel
solution will be a primary component for a corporation's efforts to achieve
compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley as well as federal agencies
and its contractors to comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive
Number 12 (HSPD12). HSPD12 is a directive from the US President requiring all
federal government employees and contractors to have a trusted identity badge
for both physical and logical access.
ActivCard Enterprise Access Card consolidates employee logical credentials
onto a single, secure smart card providing a photo ID as well as a security
device that enables secure Windows and network login, PC 'locking', secure
remote access (VPN), secure email with digital signatures, and single sign-on
to enterprise and desktop applications.
    Lenel's OnGuard(R) ID CredentialCenter(TM) consolidates employee physical
credentials, biometrics, and demographic information onto a single secure
smart card, captures photo ID and prints the card. Lenel's OnGuard platform
offers seamlessly integrated access control, alarm monitoring, identity
management, digital video, intrusion detection, asset management, card
production, and visitor management.
The ActivCard Enterprise Access Card, integrated with Lenel OnGuard ID
CredentialCenter, provides tremendous cost and security savings to
corporations and governments agencies. The joint solution integrates the
issuance and administration of cards and credentials for both physical and
logical domains, and combines a photo ID, smart card and proximity card onto a
single, easy to use device.
"ActivCard is excited to be working with Lenel, a recognized leader and
innovator in security solutions adopted by forward thinking enterprises and
government agencies across the globe," said Ed MacBeth, senior vice president
of global alliances at ActivCard. "Together, our companies offer real value to
our combined customers and help them address their business and security needs
of today."
"Lenel has always been focused on providing technology and solutions to
most effectively protect an organization's people, property and assets," said
Rudy Prokupets, chief technology officer of Lenel Systems International. "By
partnering with leading provider ActivCard, we can efficiently deliver this
valuable solution globally, helping corporations and governments save time,
money and resources."
The new solution will be on display at the RSA Conference, February 15
through 17, 2005, in San Francisco, California, in ActivCard's booth #536.
