SAN JOSE, Calif., RSA CONFERENCE - Booth 2037, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ --
FaceTime Communications, the leading provider of solutions for securing IM,
P2P and spyware Greynets, today announced new partnerships with Tablus and
PortAuthority Technologies to add increased security against content leakage
to its flagship FaceTime Enterprise Edition(TM) solution.
The two companies join FaceTime's Greynet Security Partners (GSP) Program
as charter members with an information and content leakage focus, and will
provide joint FaceTime customers with essential fingerprinting technologies
needed to identify and prevent confidential information from inappropriately
leaving the organization.
"Instant Messaging, Peer-to-Peer networks, Skype, Spyware and other
Greynets represent the largest, uncontrolled avenues for the loss of sensitive
corporate information," said Srini Gurrapu, Senior Director of Security
Products for FaceTime Communications. "Without the visibility, management and
control of Greynets, organizations are at risk of information and intellectual
property being easily leaked over these networks."
Sensitive information such as personal credit information as specified by
the PCI payment card industry standard, personal health information (PHI),
corporate intellectual property, customer data, and login credentials can
easily expose the organization to business risks and non-compliance. The new
relationships with PortAuthority Technologies and Tablus will provide
customers with integrated solutions for complete visibility and prevention of
information leaks over all popular Internet channels including Web, IM, P2P,
and email. FaceTime will actively collaborate with the program participants
for a deeper level integration of their respective technologies utilizing
standards-based methods such the Internet Content Adaptation Protocol (ICAP)
to bring integrated solutions to market.
"Enterprises and government agencies are using PortAuthority to prevent
leaks of private data and confidential information across multiple
communication channels," said Raj Dhingra, vice president of Product
Management and Marketing at PortAuthority Technologies. "By aligning with
FaceTime Communications, our joint customers can now reduce their data
security risk by accurately stopping sensitive information leaks across
instant messaging channels. With PortAuthority 4.0 and FaceTime Enterprise
Edition, companies can confidently use enterprise-wide instant messaging while
keeping the bad stuff out and the good stuff in."
"Tablus participation in FaceTime's Greynet Security Partners program is a
direct response to customer requests," said Vince Barboni, Tablus' vice
president of Business Development. "When considering the direct correlation
between the growing risk of sensitive information loss -- for data at rest, in
use and in motion -- and the increased use of Greynet communication channels,
the relationship between Tablus and FaceTime became a natural fit."
IM, P2P and spyware applications are part of a category of networked
applications that FaceTime calls 'Greynets.' Greynets are network-enabled
applications that are installed on an end user's system without permission
from IT and are highly evasive to existing security infrastructure. FaceTime
Enterprise Edition provides customers with comprehensive visibility & control,
unified threat management, information leak prevention, and compliance for
growing Greynet channels in the enterprise. FaceTime has built the industry's
most comprehensive ecosystem of partners to provide customers with the best
solutions available for securing and managing Greynets in the enterprise.
FaceTime solutions now integrate with products from more than (30) leading
vendors, giving customers unprecedented security, flexibility, and management
of IM, P2P and other real-time applications. FaceTime is committed to adding
value to our products and services through strategic partners with other
leading vendors. For more information on becoming a strategic partner of
