ZEELAND, Mich., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gentex Corporation
(Nasdaq: GNTX), the leading supplier of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors to
the worldwide automotive industry, has announced that it is supplying auto-
dimming mirrors to four new 2006 vehicles in the Ford family of brands.
The new Ford Fusion sedan offers a Gentex interior auto-dimming mirror as
part of an optional SEL Premium Package. An interior auto-dimming rearview
mirror is also available on the Premier trim level of the 2006 Mercury Milan
sedan as part of a Comfort Package. An interior auto-dimming mirror and
driver's-side exterior auto-dimming mirror are both standard on the Zephyr,
Lincoln's newest sedan. And, a Gentex base interior mirror is standard
equipment on Lincoln's new pickup, the 2006 Mark LT.
Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the
headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the glare, the
darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.
"These new programs with Ford demonstrate the automaker's continued
commitment to safety, and we're excited to be on these great new vehicles,"
said Gentex Executive Vice President Garth Deur.
