RFID Tags Track Placebos to Pallets in FOSE's RFID Pavilion

WASHINGTON, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- In less than twelve months, every
military pallet, case, and commodity, excluding bulk commodities, munitions
and explosives, must have a passive Radio Frequency Identification Device or
RFID tag. Government technologists will begin their shopping spree in FOSE
2006's RFID Pavilion on March 7-9 at the Washington DC Convention Center.
"The RFID Pavilion at FOSE will combine educational sessions with live
demonstrations to give government buyers a robust experience," explained
Lorenz Hassenstein, Vice President, PostNewsweek Tech Media. "The #1
technology that FOSE's 20,000 attendees asked to see this year was RFID, so we
have partnered with leading provider Symbol Technologies to bring solutions
from AT&T, Fortress Technologies, IBM, Lowry, SC-ID, Savi, Stratix, and Sys-
Tec to a dedicated area on the FOSE show floor."
"Government program officers and systems integrators are eager to learn
how to implement RFID for applications like border and customs control, anti-
counterfeit drug tracing, medicine administration in hospitals, and baggage
tracking," said John Bruno, Symbol senior vice president and general manager
of RFID. "As a leader in EPC RFID deployments, Symbol is proud to host an
educational theater in the Pavilion and share lessons learned both in the
public and private sector. Speakers from industry and government will discuss
critical issues to the industry including privacy and security and the future
of RFID."
FOSE 2006, celebrating its 30th year as the premier government technology

at the Washington DC Convention Center on March 7-9 with 20,000 attendees and
