Vintela Integrates Non-Windows Systems With Microsoft Infrastructure and
Management Technologies
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Vintela, a leading provider of
innovative platform integration solutions, is working with Microsoft to
demonstrate its infrastructure interoperability and enterprise management
solutions at the RSA Conference. Vintela is the first independent software
vendor (ISV) with solutions that enable non-Windows systems (including Unix,
Linux, Mac, and Java) to be managed natively from within Microsoft products
and technologies such as Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Group Policy,
Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 and Microsoft Operations
Manager (MOM) 2005.
"Since entering into agreements last November, Vintela and Microsoft have
worked to offer customers comprehensive integration solutions for their
heterogeneous environments based on existing and established Microsoft
technologies," said Felicity McGourty, director of marketing, Windows and
Enterprise Management division, Microsoft Corp. "For organizations that are
already realizing the benefits of Active Directory, Group Policy, or SMS 2003,
Vintela's products extend those solutions beyond Windows to the rest of the
enterprise for streamlined operations, increased efficiency, quicker ROI, and
a foundation for greater security."
Vintela and Microsoft will join forces to showcase demonstrations focused
on the following integrated infrastructure and management solutions:
* Integrated Authentication -- Through standards such as Kerberos, LDAP,
and others, IT and security administrators will learn how Vintela's
integration solutions for identity and access management natively and
elegantly facilitate single sign-on of Unix, Linux, and Java/J2EE
environments using Microsoft Active Directory without the need for
cumbersome, costly, and difficult-to-manage synchronization and meta-
directory solutions, and without additional infrastructure.
* Integrated Configuration Management -- Utilizing Microsoft Group
Policy, attendees at the event will learn how to extend an existing
Group Policy framework to enable IT administrators to apply policies
to Unix and Linux systems from within Active Directory.
* Integrated Systems Management -- IT administrators and systems
integrators will discover how to utilize SMS 2003 to seamlessly manage
Unix, Linux, and Mac OS X systems from within their existing SMS
Administration Console, eliminating the need for additional management
consoles or expensive duplicate infrastructure.
The RSA Conference joins the ever-growing list of events where Vintela and
Microsoft team to demonstrate how organizations can extend and enable true
native integration between Windows and non-Windows environments.
