Embedded Solutions group today announced the launch of five new profiles of
its XINGU(R) 8000 Series embedded processing solution. All five are based on
ACUNIA's revolutionary XINGU 8000 micro processing solution that combines
reconfigurability with ultra high performance and low-power consumption,
making it ideal for embedded applications.
Based on the Intel(R) XScale(TM) microarchitecture, the XINGU 8000 offers
a complete processing platform ranging from 500 to 900 MIPS, while consuming
only 1 to 1.5 Watts. It combines high processing performance with the
flexibility and time-to-market advantages of an FPGA-based design, and meets
all requirements of current and future embedded applications.

high-performance processing platforms. Each of these addresses a specific

applications in wireless Internet and PDA, networking, automotive,
telecommunications and residential markets.
For each of the profiles, ACUNIA provides a starter kit offering system
designers, developers, engineers, and network specialists a tailored
evaluation and development environment for easy entrance into specific
markets.
The XINGU(R) 8000 Series embedded processing solutions consists of these
five platforms:
* XINGU 8002 for Automotive: Employing standard interfaces, design
reusability and modularity, the kit provides high-speed processing, low-power
consumption and fast video capabilities for car and bus applications such as
navigation, security, entertainment, remote diagnostics and fleet management.
* XINGU 8010 for Networking: Customized for network component design, the
kit offers a low power, 900-MIPS solution for high-bandwidth processing,
800 MB/s, 64-bit interface memory for fast data copies, and a high-speed
external bus interface including multiple Ethernet controllers for hyperspeed
transfers. Target applications include security, firewalls, network monitors,
dedicated servers and routers.
* XINGU 8011 for Residential Gateway: For the next generation of home
access servers, the kit offers up to 900 MIPS for high-bandwidth packet
processing and CPU-intensive applications like Web, e-mail and file servers;
security, firewalls and routing; WLAN access points; IP telephony and Internet
music stations. High-speed memory with a high-speed external bus integrates
dual fast Ethernet, dual PCMCIA, USB and IDE interfaces for a leading edge
residential gateway.
* XINGU 8012 for Web Tablet/PDA: Customized for handheld web tablet
designs, the kit provides hyper-fast, high-memory performance, with a built-
in, high-quality video control touch screen, all with low power consumption.
With dual fast Ethernet, dual PCMCIA, USB and IDE interfaces, a variety of
wireless communication applications are made easy: streaming media (MPEG 2,
MPEG 4, MP3), gaming, office applications, WAN/LAN connectivity and high-speed
browsing.
* XINGU 8015 for Set-Top Box: Hyper-speed processing, high-memory
bandwidth and high-quality video make this kit an ideal developing environment
for multimedia and digital TV set-top box design applications like Web TV,
e-mail and home shopping; video-on-demand; personal video recorders; video and
phone conferencing; and Internet music stations.

Corporation to identify business opportunities and accelerate the development
