Motorola and CMCC Cooperate on 3G Research for China Market

    CANNES, France, 3GSM World Congress, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and China Mobile Communications Corporation (CMCC),
China's largest mobile phone network operator, today announced the signing of
a cooperative agreement to begin a 3G business service dimensioning research
project in China.
    Under terms of the agreement, the two sides will jointly study possible
services and their characteristics on China's future 3G networks.  The
research is focused on finding the most cost-effective network solutions for
the China market and will study the relationship between service behaviors and
the related network resource consumption.  The major areas of research include
3G applications, service behavior patterns and wireless network resource
consumption.
