    CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Transkaryotic
Therapies, Inc. (Nasdaq: TKTX) today announced that the company will be
participating at the BIO CEO & Investor Conference 2004 being held at The
Waldorf-Astoria in New York, February 23-25, 2004.
    Michael J. Astrue, President and Chief Executive Officer of TKT will be
presenting an overview of the company's business, including a discussion of
its Fabry disease and Hunter syndrome programs at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time on
Tuesday, February 24, 2004.  The live audio webcast of this presentation will
